Dr. Hone has been grateful for the opportunity to practice medicine in Tennessee now for the past 10 years, with more than 7 of those spent with Trinity Medical Associates in Maryville, TN.   She grew up in central Ohio and attended Malone University, a small evangelical undergraduate college in northeastern Ohio, where she received a degree in Chemistry.  Following a dream and a call she felt God placed early in her life to go into medicine, she completed medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.  During medical school she had the opportunity to spend a summer doing overseas medical missions in Ethiopia, served on the leadership team for the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and helped to plan curriculum for medical student education about alternatives to abortion, as she has had a strong pro-life commitment.

Following medical school Dr. Hone completed a residency in Family Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.  Having a love of the outdoors and the opportunity to enjoy western Colorado was a huge benefit in the midst of a busy season of life in residency.  Great experiences with obstetrics and hospital medicine during her training led Dr. Hone to take her first job in Sweetwater, TN where she worked practicing full-spectrum family medicine including OB, pediatrics, and hospital care.  After the birth of her first child, she reduced to part-time hours and shortly thereafter joined Trinity, drawn by their bold, faith-based approach to the practice of family medicine, and a firm commitment to excellence in medicine and compassionate care for patients.

Dr. Hone is passionate about women’s health issues, adrenal dysfunction and thyroid conditions, and really enjoys providing care for the whole family from infants to seniors.  Over the years, she has gained valuable experience with bioidentical hormone replacement, finding this a safe and effective option to assist women struggling through perimenopausal issues.  She seeks to encourage patients to pursue wellness and healthy lifestyle choices first and foremost, and remains persistent in seeking answers to difficult patient conditions.  While grounded in excellent training in traditional medicine, she remains open to alternative medicine and seeks to guide and counsel patients appropriately as they navigate choices about medicines and treatment options.

She is supported by her amazing husband Nate, who works as a middle school science teacher at Carter Middle School.  Despite both growing up in Ohio (and yes, still remaining avid Buckeye fans), they have developed a love for east Tennessee , finding Maryville a terrific place to raise their family.  Dr. Hone sees her job as a wife and mother to their 2 children to be her top priority and the most rewarding job God has given.  They are currently attending River Oaks Community Church as they seek out the church family God has for them.

The opportunity to practice medicine in a Direct Primary Care model has been a blessing that has created a setting whereby Dr. Hone can capitalize on her strengths, taking time with patients and being available to patients. She is thrilled to be able to offer services in an affordable and transparent manner.

She is currently taking new patients and can be reached at Trinity Direct of Maryville at 865-980-8551 or email her directly at hone@SECURE.trinitymedical.net. New patient consultation to determine if Direct Primary Care is right for you is also available!
