Republican Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor announced her health plan as part of her gubernatorial run on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, in Cleveland. Taylor broke with Republican Gov. John Kasich by calling for an end to the Medicaid expansion.
Lt. Governor Mary Taylor hosted a press meeting about the differences she has with Governor John Kasich.  Among them is her view that patients should be part of a Direct Primary Care program.
In my opinion, this is a better, more proactive health plan that provides care not just coverage.  It has been shown in previous models to reduce cost of healthcare, increase access, and reduce expensive specialty care such as hospitalization and advanced imaging.

In lieu of Medicaid, Taylor said she would institute what is called direct primary care. It’s like a membership for basic health care services that cuts out the middle man.
