I’ve always wanted to ask all my single payer advocate friends why don’t they advocate for single payer food chain systems or single payer housing. If a single payer system is so good at doling out limited resources why do we not trust the single payer to control every limited resource we have: food, water, housing, clothing, cars, travel, baseball game tickets, cell phone usage, etc, etc, etc.
The ugly truth is that people really only want to turn to the single payer system when they are advocating for someone else to pay for something they want but can’t afford. Instead of focusing on how to spend someone else’s money, I believe we should focus on how to reduce cost. That’s where the free market shines.
So here’s an interesting little article highlighting the flaws of a single payer system.
