January 4th marks the one year anniversary of the first day of Trinity’s Direct Primary Care program.  It has been a great year!  We had a substantial number of patients preregister for the program and our patient rolls have doubled in the last year.  We now have days where our schedules are comparatively full.  It is fun to be busy.  Additionally, we have opened two new office locations expanding the range of services offered.  Trinity is now the largest Direct Primary Care program in our area.

The conversation about how Direct Primary Care is changing the healthcare landscape is accelerating.  Trinity’s program has been featured in several articles in the Knoxville News Sentinel and Dr. McColl was interviewed for a piece in CityView discussing the collapse of Obamacare.  We have taken numerous calls from physicians wanting to convert their practice to a DPC model as well as physicians seeking employment with us.  Direct Primary Care returns freedom to the patient-physician relationship.  Most physicians just want to work for their patients and need freedom to give their best.

We could not be more thankful for God’s goodness that has allowed continued growth of our program.  We are continually humbled by our patients placing their trust in our care as their doctors and the depth of need in our community to which God has called us to serve.  Our heart’s desire is to care for our community the way we care for our families.

In the coming year, we ask for your continued support in our program in three specific ways.  First, we ask that you to take ownership in your own health.  DPC patients already tend to be thoroughly engaged with their healthcare decisions and the daily choices that dictate their health.  Remember that your health is primarily about your choices- what you eat, how you move, and the quality of your sleep and stress.  Second, we ask that you tell someone about our program.  We don’t do much advertising trusting in word-of-mouth referrals.  We believe it’s best to focus on doing a good job every time and let patients spread the word.  So follow us on Facebook, read our blog, share a post but most importantly tell someone you know about what the program means to you.  You can share a Facebook post, leave us a review on Google, or provide feedback on our website.  We’d love to hear from you and what you think.  Lastly, we ask that you continue to pray for us.  We want to grow our ability to reach patients in the community who need medical care.  Many patients who have joined the program haven’t had good medical care in decades.  With our low cost and highly accessible program we can reach people the traditional medical regimen cannot.  Please pray that God would give us eyes to see the need we can meet, feet willing to go where He needs us to provide care, and hands enabled by the Great Physician to minster health in His name.

Thank you for a great New Year celebration and thank you for letting us be a part of your life.

Drs. Hone, McColl, and Smith.
